ABOUT
Back in 2005, a legendary seafaring leisure-seeker named Bernie washed ashore on the beach just north of Avalon Pier – barefoot and sunburnt – when his boat was destroyed just off shore during Hurricane Ophelia. With little money in his pockets and no shoes on his feet, Bernie began cooking up some of his favorite tropical dishes for the locals, and his legacy continues to this day in the Kitty Hawk restaurant that bears his name. For 15 years, Bernie’s brother searched every corner of the globe to find his long-lost sibling, and in the Spring of 2020 the brothers were finally reunited right here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Vowing to never again be too far away from each other, Bernie’s brother decided to bring his own favorite tropical treats to residents and visitors in the quaint northern banks village of Corolla. Today, you can enjoy these brothers’ favorite dishes from the world’s best beaches at two locations on the Outer Banks. We look forward to becoming your favorite “go-to” spot to eat, drink and relax with friends while enjoying the most delicious drinks and fantastic food on the OBX!
